Abstract

This paper begins by analyzing the
source of information deficiency in organizations despite the existence of a
large pool of resources. It explains some effects of this deficit and the
implications if it is not collected. Sources such as lack of proper storage and
handling of information are discussed as the causes of information deficit.
Therefore, securing of information and encouraging proper usage is considered
as the only remedy for these challenges. Employee motivation is also considered
in the section as a solution to information deficiency. Secondly, the paper
discusses some uses of visualization in businesses. It establishes that laptops
and mobile phones are now used as visualizations since they are linked with
other devices to enhance the convenience of the user. Hardware visualization is
also analyzed in this paper. The article concludes that only those firms with a
large number of workers benefit from this visualization. Lastly, the paper
discusses some importance of database management system. For instance, it
explains how DBMS is used to improve the transmission of information in an
organization.

 

Information Deficiency

Firms are still struggling with information
deficiency despite the existence of a large pool of information from diverse
sources. This deficiency continues to limit the capability and the scope of
firms’ operations (Malinovskii,
2015). There are various loopholes that prevent firms from storing and
acquiring data once it is required for various purposes. First, lack of
sufficient assets and capabilities to handle information tactfully limits the
use of the already available information. Firms should ensure that they have
acquired the right information for the right purpose. This objective is
achieved by ensuring that firms have acquired the right resources to control
the flow of information throughout an organization’s departments. For instance,
production department has different information needs from the sales department
thus similar information cannot be applied to both areas. This feature implies
that a clear distinction should be established among departments.

Information deficiency has also been
motivated by the lack of coordination among departments. Firms should ensure
that reliability of information is improved by obtaining it from reliable
sources. Firms should also learn to share information among departments to
improve their productivity.

There exists a large pool of information in
different sources. However, it is a challenge to select the most accurate and
precise information. Information’s accuracy can be determined by carrying out a
frequent monitoring of all information systems. Firms can also keep track of
all advanced and reliable sources of information. Information storage
challenges can also be resolved by segregating information among departments.
This practice ensures that different information is not only analyzed and
applied in the right department but also reduced in terms of bulkiness. Lastly,
firms can solve information deficiency problems by coming up with employee
motivational plans that encourage them to research and utilize the available
information appropriately.

Virtualization

Businesses value urgency and accuracy while
carrying out their operations. They virtualize their applications such that
they are delivered to an end user through devices such as phones and laptops (Kernbach, Eppler & Bresciani, 2015).
This means that users do not need to login into a computer but rather they
access their information from anywhere. Hardware virtualization is also common
since businesses prefer pooling all the systems together to form a single
system that works more efficiently. A network virtualization is also common in
businesses as different networks are pooled together to form one resource.
Businesses with a large number of users benefit from these services since it
ensures that businesses are running as expected at all time.

The DBMS serves as a data dictionary
management. It defines the type of data and its corresponding relationship with
other forms of data. The DBMS utilizes the data dictionary to understand the
structure of the required components hence helping in achieving other
objectives such as coding easily (Leong, 2012).
Any changes in the DBMS system ensure that this change is automatically
recorded in the system. Data storage management ensures that complex data
structures are well stored and retrieved whenever they are required. Lastly,
the DBMS performs data transmission and presentation functions. They are
necessary in transforming physically entered data into useful data structures.
This is important in differentiating between logical data and the physical form
of data. The DBMS performs the function of changing the physically obtained
data to a more flexible system that conforms to the user’s logical format.
