Disconnect tries
to maintain your control over personal information and does so primarily by
blocking all tracking requests. It has a simple commercial product design – and
it is made by a commercial software developer, but relies on the “pay as
much as you want” model (and allows you to contribute to charity, if you
want). The developer also offers applications for Android and iOS.

Although it is
positioned as a privacy tool, Disconnect also blocks advertising. But he cannot
do anything with the ads that appear in the video on YouTube.

After
installation, Disconnect gives you access to the information treasure in its
drop-down box. For any page you visit, you will get statistics of all
advertising, analytical, social and content queries that were made (and blocked)
during its download. For each of the categories, you can open a list of
companies or sites that made these requests. This is informative and
interesting, at least, but probably unnecessary for most users.

Disconnect shows an elegant interactive graph of the relationship between the
current site and various trackers. It looks good, but it’s not something that
you’ll probably use often. Much more useful to use is a status window that
shows how much time and bandwidth you have saved using Disconnect.

Instead of the
switch off / on, Disconnect gives you the ability to create a
“whitelist” of the sites that you are browsing, effectively resolving
all advertising and other things, while counting its number, which is
interesting. In addition, you can manually allow individual sites and services,
if you have a reason.

Disconnect
isolates you from almost all sites, except the one you are viewing and
filtering advertisements for download. Even if you are indifferent to its
beautiful interface, you can be calm, knowing that it works behind the scenes.
